Company: Sakonnet Early Learning Center
Location: Tiverton, RI
Type: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Shifts between 7:30 AM–5:30 PM | Up to 40 hrs/week
Compensation: $16.00–$19.00/hour (based on experience & credentials)
- Instruction & Curriculum: Plan and deliver hands-on, standards-aligned lessons (literacy, math, science/STEAM, and SEL) grounded in developmentally appropriate practice (DAP).
- Frameworks You’ll Use: Integrate elements of Reggio Emilia, HighScope, Montessori, Creative Curriculum, and project-based learning to spark independence and problem-solving.
- Assessment: Observe, document, and analyze growth using observational notes/portfolios; communicate progress and goals during family conferences.
- Classroom Culture: Establish predictable routines, positive guidance/Conscious Discipline, and inclusive supports that honor diverse learning styles.
- Compliance & Safety: Uphold state licensing rules, ratios, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintain accurate classroom and incident documentation.
- Family Partnership: Provide timely, strengths-based updates and collaborate with caregivers to support learning at home.
- Team Collaboration: Mentor classroom teammates, coordinate with specialists, and contribute to school-wide initiatives and events.

Technology: Utilize tools like Procare/Brightwheel for communication, attendance, and reporting.
- Education: CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education (or related field).
- Experience: 2+ years leading a Pre-K/ preschool classroom in a licensed early childhood program.
- Expertise: Strong lesson design, classroom management, and knowledge of kindergarten-readiness benchmarks and RIELDS (Rhode Island Early Learning & Development Standards) preferred.
- Approach: Warm, professional communicator with a growth mindset; skilled in SEL, inclusive practices, and positive behavior support.

Requirements: 18+; able to pass all required background checks; CPR/First Aid or willingness to obtain.
