Build a Career That Actually Feels Meaningful

If you’re looking for more than “just a job” in childcare, this is it.

At Sakonnet Early Learning Center, we’ve been a trusted part of the Tiverton community for over 40 years, providing high-quality early education in a warm, structured, and supportive environment. We’re currently seeking a Pre-K Preschool Teacher who is ready to lead, grow, and make a real impact every single day.

Unlike typical school paraprofessional roles, this position offers year-round employment, consistent scheduling, and clear pathways for advancement in early childhood education.

Who Thrives Here

We’re open-minded about background and experience. If you’ve worked with children in any capacity, we want to hear from you. This role is a great fit for candidates with experience such as:

  •  Preschool, daycare, or early childhood settings
  •  School paraprofessional or classroom aide roles
  •  Youth programs, camps, or recreation leadership
  •  Behavioral health, ABA, or human services support
  •  Coaching, tutoring, mentoring, or academic support
  •  Strong customer service or leadership roles involving children
If you bring patience, energy, and a genuine interest in child development, we can train the rest.

What You’ll Be Doing

  •  Leading engaging Pre-K instruction through play-based and structured learning
  •  Supporting early literacy, math readiness, and STEAM activities
  •  Implementing Creative Curriculum in developmentally appropriate ways
  •  Encouraging positive behavior and emotional development
  •  Creating a safe, consistent, and welcoming classroom environment
  •  Partnering with families and collaborating with a dedicated teaching team
What You’ll Get

We believe great educators deserve real support and stability:

  •  Competitive hourly pay: $16.00 – $19.00/hr
  •  $500 sign-on bonus (full-time) / $250 (part-time)
  •  Weekly pay cycle
  •  Paid time off and holidays (eligible staff)
  •  Employee childcare discounts
  •  401(k) eligibility
  •  Free snacks and classroom perks
  •  Ongoing training + professional development
  •  Clear promotion and advancement opportunities
  •  Year-round, stable scheduling
Requirements

  •  High school diploma or GED required
  •  Experience working with children preferred
  •  CDA or early childhood coursework is a plus
  •  CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  •  Must successfully pass background screening
